About us
Helping curious kids become confident mathematicians
XCurio Academy is a math learning centre in North York, Toronto, for students in Grades 1 to 6. We blend the Ontario Curriculum with the teaching methods of Singapore Math, because every child can love math once they understand why it works.
Our mission
To spark every child’s curiosity and turn it into lasting confidence and excellence in math.
Curiosity is where real learning starts. When children feel safe to wonder, question and try, they don’t just earn better grades. They begin to see themselves as people who can figure things out.
How we teach
Our teaching philosophy
Three ideas guide every lesson, in every grade.
Understanding over memorizing
Every concept moves from Concrete to Pictorial to Abstract: students handle it, draw it, then write it, so the symbols make sense when they arrive.
Every child is seen
With up to 12 students per class, instructors really know each student: what excites them, where they need support and how to stretch them.
Our classroom
A space made for learning
Our classrooms at 2454 Bayview Ave are set up for small groups, hands-on activities and plenty of questions.
