XCurio Academy (“XCurio”, “we”, “us”) provides math education for children at 2454 Bayview Ave, North York, Ontario. We take the privacy of the students and families we serve seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is guided by Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

• Parent or guardian details: name, email address and phone number.
• Student details: your child’s name, grade and any learning needs you choose to share, plus notes about their progress in our classes.
• Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, by email or by phone.
• Bookings and registrations: information you submit through our online forms, including our free trial booking form (hosted by Microsoft Forms).
• Payments: if you pay online, your payment is handled by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.

How we use your information

• To answer your questions and arrange trial classes.
• To register students, schedule classes and communicate with families.
• To share updates about your child’s learning and progress.
• To process payments and refunds.
• To improve our programs and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We will only send you news or promotional messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Children’s information

We collect information about students from their parent or guardian, not directly from children. A parent or guardian should complete all forms on this website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

Consent

By giving us your information, you consent to its use as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide classes.

Sharing your information

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business (for example, form, email and payment providers), and only as needed for them to provide their service. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information when required by law.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards to protect personal information from loss, theft and unauthorized access. Only staff who need the information to do their work can access it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. After that, it is securely deleted or destroyed.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate. We will respond within 30 days.

Our website

Our website uses Google Fonts and an embedded Google Map, which may collect technical information such as your IP address under Google’s own privacy policy. Our “Book a Free Trial Class” buttons open a form hosted by Microsoft. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
